In the meantime for more instant results place an emphasis on "passing" the ball to the corners of the net. This will at least alleviate the immediate problem of balls blazing over the bar and in my opinion is a much more effective finishing technique anyway.

That was my problem as a player, I wanted to socre a ripper of a goal. Passing the ball to the corners is a good visualization to work on.
