Hello All
I have a L2 final assessment next week and have just recieved my sessions: SHOOTING - beating the GK when clear of the defence (SKILL) Improving one touch play (SSG) I really need your help on both topics, especially SHOOTING - beating the GK when clear of the defence (SKILL) because this was not covered in the level 2 course. All help much appreciated. Thanks. Greg |

Thanks Jerzy your help is much apprecited.
Could you also help me with improving one touch play? I was thinking of a 2-1-2 formation for one team and a 2-2-1 for the other. I would coach the 2-2-1 formation and be looking for a midfielder to drop deep to recieve the ball from defence with him looking to pass to the other midfielder or striker depending on the situation. Key factors would be: support, head up, awareness, decision making and communication. what do you think? all opinions welcome!!! |

One further thought on one on one finishing is that you need to angle your urn as much as possible to open your body up so that you have alternatives and you can sell the keeper a dummy befor eyou strike the ball. The tighter the angle the less options you have and so are easier to read.

Well, this is the kind of finish you're looking for (and I'm always looking for more reasons to post Arsenal goals):
ريدينغ - ارسنال " الدوري الانجليزي " : هد٠ثالث ملغى لارسنال بداعي التسلل Watching this goal, having the ability to move laterally, side-to-side, is important, for it is the easiest way to go past the keeper. Video watching note: the up-down scroll bar is on the left... Edit: the link works, but I guess Vbulletin had trouble parsing that link...

Hi
Beating the GK when clear of the defence is about maintainig momentum and MUST be set up outside the penalty area. I would start with the attack around 40 yards from goal and have a ball passed into him. KF's Maintain momentum with first touch Sight the GK Move the GK off a straight line Decision on finish (dribble round/shoot) Technique of selected finish Add a recovering defender KF Take a touch across the defender to prevent him tackling you |
