I have recently been in touch with Watford and Norwich about a lad who I thought should be looked at. All you have to do is get in touch with the clubs acadamy. In the case of Norwich they train at the University of Herts in Hatfield. They will be a little more sceptical about U15 lads, as they usually have noticed lads by now. Lad I knew only ever played in the lower leagues of the MHRML, because he was playing with his mates.

The reason being, that I have two U15 lads, who other coaches praise highly.

Do you send a video? a letter? Am I aiming too high and should consider semi-pro teams?

One of the lads was rejected by Luton a couple of years back, and I think this could have been because of size, he fits the Jermaine Defoe size type.

Do pro academies still want big strong players in this day and age? (I'm hoping football has moved on, and skill plays some part)

Anyway, any opinions gratefully accepted.

Have you give your local pro club a call?

Where I am, if there is a promising player, then we give the centre of excellence / academy manager a call, and they should come out and watch the player(s) at their discretion.
