Just play lots of games you think fit in with how you want them to play in ssg, few drills, stretchnig. no running, except sprints, and cool down.

Last winter, which was my preseason as we do not play through the winter here in the states, I had my guys indoors and we played a lot of basketball. Just to be different, keep them from getting bored. I also play a lot of soccer handball (like keepaway) or ultimate frisbee for the high schoolers I had 8-9 years ago.

Since you've got the girls year round, and they are very successful, I'd figure that the change of pace might be best for you. When I'm playing soccer offseason, I let my kids pick the teams (which I usually avoid doing in the season). By this time, your team is pretty strong, so the sting of being picked last shouldn't be too much of an issue.

If you're going to play more soccer-games, you might some wilder variants like soccer with two balls, four goals (but you probably do that anyway), or three teams. Also, you could use the offseason to introduce the new skill/game that you want the kids to get good at. Two years ago I took the offseason to introduce what my old director of coaching called the Bayern Munich game (5 v 2 with the 5-player team getting points for hitting a target man with a pass). It took a couple of practices for the game to sink in, but that was all that I wanted to teach, so I was happy. It became the staple game we played throughout the season.

I'm curious, just because your girls seem to good, what did you do last offseason?

hi jerzy

last pre season we just did a lot of fitness work without football but wanted to do it defferent this year. like you i try and do things different so have got an american football and have had them playing that and touch rugby as part of their training which went down well.
i just really concentrate on getting the basics right and then concentrate on the skills during the season.
can you send me the details of the munich game you wrote about please.
