Default Goal kicks for adults...

Hi

I'm looking for help with my own kicks (I'm a Sunday league GK and it's one of the main things I need help with).

From what I've read I need to focus on kicking with my laces...

I know a lot of this forum is directed at young kids, but does anyone have any good kicking advice for adult players?

Cheers people! :0)

Keep your eye on the short option if on. If not I always say to go to wings if you can't get distance.

My own keeper had a poor kick out then switched to shorts instead of baggy trousers. Has made some distances.

I've also worked on using the side volley technique that SA kprs use. the ball doesn't go as high, and you can put more accuracy on the landing area.

Default Just one Step!!

You must not fail to mention the NON-KICKING foot placement!! The non-kicking foot when lofting the soccer ball is placed further back and away from the ball and pointing at the target player. The kicking leg takes as full a swing as needed to achieve the weight necessary for the ball to reach the target. The kicking foot then goes under the ball Front or Laces slanted downward(imagine striking a golf ball with a 9- Iron) and the momentum of the leg lifts the ball. I hope that this helps!

Wink Tip to stronger and longer Goalkeeper's kicks

They are u8s and there first season
Let him grow!
The goalkeeper has a lot to deal with back there on his toes watching for the fastest best shooter on the opposing team. Just waiting for a break away to happen so that all of those years of growing and training can magically rise to the surface and he can dazzle all the thousands of spectators with his brilliant skills who paid a premium and drove hundreds of miles just for that moment in time. Oh excuse me, where was I... Oh yes, his kick... Practice with the proper technique! I have seen too many children come to me who have been taught improper punting/kicking and it takes a lot longer to unscramble someones mistakes than to start fresh. So when you start, start right.

Here's my right footed punting technique...

1. Hold the soccer ball in your right hand
2. Extend your right arm so that your right elbow is slightly bent
3. Take Two(2) steps towards the side(The leg swings on a ball and socket at an angle NOT STRAIGHT and with bended knee from as far back as it can bend.)
4. DROP (DO NOT TOSS) the ball toward your right foot
5. Make ball contact with your right foot as it swings up from the side angle. (See step three)
6. Follow all the way through the ball with the kick.
7. The energy of the punt should pick the left foot of the punter up off of the ground but not enough to make him lose his balance.

I hope that this helps you... It will certainly help a coach who has the child after you..
