I have a similar problem, I coach Brighouse Juniors under 14 girls, Currently i have six players at a centre of excellence. We had a meeting in March where we were told same as you but have heard nothing since.
Originally we were told that the trials would be in May, but it now seems unlikely that this will happen. To lose lose those players now would make life difficult but to lose them in August would spell disaster. I think this is a positive step forward for girls football but it needs to be sorted asap so players and coaches know where they stand |

Hi Darren
I dont think you can deny her the opportunity - I see this regularly the coach gets involved in football because their child excels - the child gets picked up - the coach has to commit to academies etc and can no longer coach the team due to external commitments etc - Personally I think you should be very very proud a lady at my youngests nursery has adaughter that was picked up by Arsenal and has now got a scholership to carry on her further education - lets face it your daughter stands a greater chance of actually making it than any boy in this country - I say youve got to go for it - although I do know exactly where you are coming from as the politics completely do my head in as well ![]() |

hi rils
if my daughter or any of my players want to play for the centre next season they will get my full support. i know it is a great oppertunity for them and i have advised them all to think about it a lot before just deciding to stay amd play with their friends.

What I hate out of all of it is the politics on the sidelines - I hate it more than anything else the subterfuge and back stabbing it disgusts me - maybe it will get better once I know what is happening - good luck with yours ![]() |

I think its absolutley ridiculous putting restrictions on how much football she can play. If she can cope playing for the centre of excellence and playing for the club team then she should be allowed to. I know as a kid i played football every opportunity i got, i had played for my school, club team and the county and loved every minute of it and i know if i would of had to choose i would have been gutted!!! x

It has been like this in the Mens game for years but it has now filtered down to the ladies game. I find it slightly frustrating that if the School of Excellence only play once every two weeks then why can they not play for their team in the week between games at the least.
