Default Would you pay for Coaching 11v11

I had a pro coach come to our team yesterday to teach 4-4-2 attacking, defending. The session was 2 hours long, all stop start, a lot of info to take in, but got to say my U15 lads thought it was very useful. You could see a difference at the end, the defending team were not chasing the ball everywhere and making it hard for attacking team to get ball behind back 4. Attacking team were patient, keeping ball, looking for the right time to make a pass. Hopefully they will remember all this on Sunday.

My question to you all is would you pay for this service only on the basis that your team would benefit from this type of coaching. I am not saying all the time just as a one off. Cost was £5per child.

11v11 is quite rare to get coached at amateur level.
It made sense for the lads to see the positioning on a full size pitch, as in SSG sometimes they dont relate it too the full size game.

I brought in my state director of coaching for a couple of sessions two years ago (when I lived much closer to him). It was beneficial, just because we as coaches start getting a "little old hat" and having someone like that come in can really help. My DOC did it for free, though.

The bigger question is whether you think it was worth it, since it must have cost 60 - 70 pounds total. You have to have parents willing to spend that. I think what you could also do, though, is trade off with coaches within your club to act as the expert. We've got one former coach who is working this to "coach the coaches" and its worked well for a couple of them...

11v11 at a fiver per head....£110. No chance.

I would like to work alongside someone with relevant experience and bounce ideas off them, maybe they would learn from me as well!

In a way we have paid for coaching before, at £20 per head. The difference was this included a bus ride to Edinburgh, playing on Hearts' training facilities, everyone getting a size 5 adidas ball, and being taken by the head of Coerver coaching up there. We actually asked the kids to pay for this though.
If it's of benefit to them, then absolutely yes. Not regularly though.

The question is - will you now improve as a coach after this?

Just got back from our game today after having the coaching session on Friday. Asked the lads if they would be happy to do it again, all said yes, only would like to of played more of a game at the end.
Did it work, absolutely their was a big difference in the way they approached game, we won 6-3.
I learnt from this coaching, there was a couple of things that I did not realise so it was beneficial for me as a coach.
