After reading a few threads, I wanted to introduce myself to this community. I look forward to sharing ideas with other forum members. I currently live in Costa Rica and I am always amazed on how the Ticos play almost everyday. The parks are packed with games and by players of all ages. One thing I have noticed, when it comes to game time, they are always prepared mentally. Too much preparation to let it slip away.Much to be admired.Richard

Welcome the forum.
That sounds great....wouldn't it be great if we had that beautiful weather so everyone could get out more here too (UK)! That's also a great atttitude the kids have their too. I think self belief is a hugely important factor to playing with creativity and confidence. And if the kids are getting the opportunity to play everyday then they will have that self belief and confidence. How did you end up in Costa Rica or were you you born there? |

Thanks for the reply and nice to meet you. Well, my expericence here is a long story. Maybe I can shed some light on my purpose by sharing a small bio about myself. Richard Blank is the Chief Executive Officer for Costa Rica’s Call Center, a division of Cheyenne Consultants, a company incorporated in Costa Rica. At the beginning of the decade, Mr. Blank relocated to Costa Rica to train over 500 employees for one of the larger call centers in Central America. By utilizing his motivational public speaking style backed by tactful and appropriate rhetoric, he has successfully prepared and managed some of the finest telemarketers in the country for the past seven years. In addition, Mr. Blank has earned the reputation of running a school for telemarketing and is often sought after for private training sessions and consultation. In anticipation of CAFTA, Mr. Blank became a strategic partner of the Pacific Rim Chamber of Commerce, Beverly Hills, California and Selway Global Communications, Tempe, Arizona to expand Costa Rica’s international telecommunications and business appeal. Mr. Blank holds a bachelors degree in Communication and Spanish from the University of Arizona and a certificate of language proficiency from the University of Sevilla, Spain. Keep the kids focused and always be prepared. You should have a winning season with that combination. Good luck. Richard

Hey that's some biog! Sounds like you've got your hands full! I take it you're originally from California then? That place has got my name written on it - I'm gonna visit one day soon. Do you coach out in Costa Rica - for fun or for serious? |

Actually, born and raised in Philadelphia.
The only coaching I do is for a professional basketball team.I do their personal and mental training. I do not have the qualifications to coach a soccer team. But, there are many good points on this site that I have used for my team. Coaches must stick together... Richard .

Good to meet you. I guess the only difference was moving to Arizona and living with two futue NBA players: Khalid Reeves and Ben Davis. Regardless, water seeks it's own level.I have taken their advice and leadership in another direction. Best regards, Richard .

I like to think of myself as a progressive coach. As somebody with an interest in basketball, who would you recommend to read up on for tips on technique, fitness or general quotes. I've read up on Walden & Lombardi.
