Default Training Philosophy

Hi All, New member!

Im just about to start my 2nd season as a manager of an under 10's mini soccer side that is 7 aside. After a season full of enjoyment by the kids and myself were we finished a respectable 7th out of 8th im looking to push on this year and something has wracked my brains for awhile i was wondering if someone could help!

I plan my sessions generally around what ive noticed the week before which is lacking in my side in games and in training and we work on that. Now i wondered whether this is a good way of developing our talent because personally i dont know whether this the best framework to follow or whether i should structure my training throughout a season being flexible at times to allow amendment for things we struggle on throughout the course of our season?

Any thoughts?

Any help would be brilliant.

It's not usually regarded as the best philosophy to react to the previous weeks match.

A lot of the time on this forum, I bang on about forgetting last weeks match result, and concentrate on improving players. I seem to be swimming against the stream.

Make a season long plan to improve every player in your squad. break it down to two simple concepts, attacking and defending. Break that down further into the various topics.

Imagine yourself in ten years time, when your team have grown. Ask yourself "Did I do my upmost for those players?"

I agree that it is not a good idea to focus on previous failings. Be positive and look to deliver the main skills to your players in training. Plan to work on their control, passing, movement, running with the ball and shooting. Practice good technique and introduce movement in SSG's. Any player who cannot do these 5 things will always struggle, so focus here.
