Hi everyone, first post and its a question re 2v2 attacking.I think ive got it covered by setting up a 20x 10 and having either defender or server pass ball into attacking pair the defenders closing them down either on first touch of the ball or as ball is on way to attackers.I wil be looking for decision making from attackers, when to pass when to dribble etc,how to make space.
1.Do the attackers always remain the same and you just coach this pair or does each pair have a go at attacking 2.Is there a progression to this 3.Would you have small goals in corner for team to score through or just run ball over the line |

1) I wouldn't mix the defenders up with the attackers.
Perhaps have 2 pairs of attackers and 2 pairs of defenders, rotating when neccessary to have a rest/break. 2) Possibly - you could bring in a keeper using a big goal for a more realistic target, it would mean they don't need to beat the def(ie get past) in order to score. 3) Initially just a zone, getting past the defensive line with the ball under control at this stage should be the target. |
