I was thinking of creating an analysis sheet for parents regarding the current playing skills of my Under 10's Girls team. I don't want it to be so serious but I was thinking of creating categories such as Technical, Physical, Phycological, Physical with sections within say, speed, dribbling, tackling motivation etc. I was going to mark the player out of 10 for what I thought their current level is for the age. I'm thinking doing this every month and see how the girls improve over the season. This may be a good tool for me and good for the parents so they can actally see where their kids may need to improve. I may just keep them for myself though. I know it's only under 10's but i'm kind of analytical if you know what I mean, working in a lab with statistics isn't good sometimes!
What do you guys think? Steve |

I do something with my boys team who are under tens. I do not score them as it can be negative to someone so young. I give them a sheet every month written in easy to understand language. I focus on what they have done well and hat they have improved on. I also give them some basics to think about, i.e. when shooting strike the ball with the laces part of the foot, non kicking foot etc.
Most of them should understand what you are talking about and may take it in? You will need to judge that and write your next piece to them accordingly. They will not get the analytical part as i have tried first touch through a game analysis with the better ones and they are not really interested.Keep things basic at this age. |
