Drill: Fun skills circuit
Purpose
Fun fitness circuit to develop speed, technique and concentration whilst improving fitness and endurance through interval training with the ball

Drill area

Set Up
- Area - use half a pitch
- Supply of balls Cones Poles
- Running with the ball - distance 30 - 35 meters between cones
- Pressure control - Passing distance 10 meters, control box 3 meter square, distance to check cone 5 - 10 meters
- Speed dribbling - Distance from start cone to first cone 10 - 15 meters. 6 - 8 Cones in a zig zag.
- Pass and move - 20 meters passing distance, gates 2 meters wide, running distance 15 meters between cones
Structure
Running with the ball - Players take it in turns to run as quickly as possible with the ball over the distance and return to team mate. Repeat Pressure control - Player checks from cone, controls ball in box and passes back to team mate. Swap places after two passes. Repeat. Speed dribbling - Players quickly dribble in and out of cones, back to team mate. Repeat Pass and move - Players have pass through the gate, sprint round next cone to receive return pass. Repeat Each pair of players work on each exercise for between 1 - 2 minutes. There is 30 seconds rest while players change exercises and repeat through all 4 exercises. Ensure players concentrate on the skill and technique required for each exercise and their speed of movement
Coaching Tips
- Players to work hard on each circuit for 1 minute
- Swap players after 1 minute
- Repeat on next circuit
- This is an interval endurance drill, so encourage players to work hard on fitness and techniques
