FA LEVEL 1 COACHING – FIND A FRIEND -PROGRESSIONS 3 + 4

PROGRESSION 3
ORGANISATION
- Play 4 v 4
- Two players from the team are target players on the diagonal in target zones
- Two v two in the middle
- Ball can only be played to one of their own team in a target zone
- Ball is played back to their team mates in the middle, with the objective of keeping possession
- Competition is to see which team can keep possession for the most passes
COACH TO ENCOURAGE
- Target players to move within their area to support the player on the ball
- Middle players to play with their head up
- Middle players to use good, accurate passing skills, dribbling, turning and running with the ball skills
- Team in possession of the ball must move early to find space and to support the player on the ball.
- Can target players pass to opposite target player?
- Good communication between players, both verbally and with hand gestures
PROGRESSION 4
- Play 4 v 4
- Two players from the team are target players on the diagonal in target zones
- Two v two in the middle
- After passing from the middle to end target players, players must SWAP POSITIONS
- Competition is to see which team can keep possession for the most passes
COACH TO ENCOURAGE
- Players must swap positions
- Players to play with their heads up
- Players to use good, accurate passing skills, dribbling, turning and running with the ball skills
- Team in possession of the ball must move early to find space and to support the player on the ball.
- Good communication between players, both verbally and with hand gestures
