Greg Dyke visits Nottingham to learn about City of Football project

FA chairman Greg Dyke has paid a visit to Nottingham to assess progress of the City of Football project.

Dyke spoke to youngsters in the Nottingham Pythian Club, based in New Basford, and watched them play football. He told the Nottingham Post:

“I wanted to see what’s happening with the grant that Nottingham received and see for myself what we can learn from it because football is a common language that can help society.”

Nottingham beat competition from other UK cities to be chosen as the City of Football by Sport England in September 2014, winning a £1.6 million National Lottery grant over two years, starting last year.
