FA Level 1 – Waves Part 5

This final progression follows on from the blog “WAVES” start of the practice, “WAVES progressions two and three, “WAVES” progressions four and five and “WAVES” progressions four and five.

The fifth and final “Waves” blog, starts to introduce Football Association Level 2 content, with the first session being a 3 v 1, the second a 3 v 2 and finally a 3 v 3 conditioned game. The previous “WAVE” sessions were designed to gradually test and stretch the players, by adding time trials, encouraging quick, passing, movement, support and communication. The conditions imposed in the previous “WAVE” sessions helped the players to develop different unopposed skills, such as first time shooting, turning to shoot, crossing and finishing and switching play. These last three progressions, now introduce defenders, which will further test players ability whilst under pressure. The last progression is a 3 v 3 game, which is where all football coaching session should end, with a game of football.
